In his book, the Dialogue, Galileo advanced the argument in 1632 that the earth was not the centre of the universe, and that the earth revolves around the sun. This idea of a heliocentric solar system was so controversial then, that the Catholic Church classified it as heresy, and the book was banned. Eventually, when it became common knowledge that the Earth was not the centre of the universe the Church lifted the ban on Galileo’s Dialogue in 1822, but without a public apology to him. Mankind misunderstood the cosmos due to a lack of knowledge, and this was not the only time we goofed.
Throughout history, there have been numerous other examples of big errors made by mankind, many of which persisted for centuries before being corrected. Here are a few examples:
1. For much of human history, many people believed that the Earth was flat. This belief persisted until the 15th century when explorers such as Christopher Columbus demonstrated that the Earth was indeed round.
2. For centuries, it was believed that living organisms could arise spontaneously from non-living matter, and that disease was caused by “bad air” or miasma. This belief persisted until the 19th century when Louis Pasteur, a French microbiologist, demonstrated the role of microorganisms, such as bacteria and viruses, in causing diseases.
3. Alchemy was an ancient practice that aimed to turn base metals into gold and find the philosopher’s stone, a mythical substance believed to have magical properties. Alchemy was eventually replaced by modern chemistry, which is based on empirical evidence and scientific method.
Today, spirituality has been identified as the biggest of all errors made by mankind. We wallowed in the stupidity of spirituality due to a lack of knowledge. Spirituality is mankind’s biggest folly. Spirituality is often contrasted with religion, but the two are not mutually exclusive. While most people find spirituality within a religious framework, others may seek it outside of organized religion. No matter where you find it, spirituality is a hoax. It is a primitive indulgence that adds no value to humanity. Spirituality is what primitive people do when they are overwhelmed by a lack of knowledge and understanding of who they are and of the universe. In due course, just as Alchemy was eventually replaced by modern chemistry, Spirituality will be fully replaced by Science and Technology.

We chose ab initio (i.e., from the beginning) the path of science in the Garden of Eden. Why? To be like God who created us. This is what the Holy Bible says in the book of Genesis. The knowledge of good and evil is the path of science. This path of science requires the maximum use of the brain for survival, and for prosperity. Religion and spirituality have no part in this. However, when the ancient primitive man found himself helpless and at the mercy of his environment and the world around him, he quickly created a religion for solace and for protection, relying on the gods for survival in spite of his brain.
Because he was weak, feeble, and helpless, his religion was important, and the gods were powerful. But as man gained knowledge and power over his world by applying his brain, he began to rely more on his analytical thinking tool (the human brain) for survival, and for prosperity. Mankind is at this stage today. Sooner or later, he will discover that his religion is no longer important, and the gods are no longer powerful. Eventually, both will be abandoned (i.e., his religion and his God) as man becomes the God of his world. Boom!!! He is now God, just like his creator. Biblical prophecy fulfilled.
